  High Court Drama
Predicting the Future of SCOTUS

Sunday, August 7, 2016
3 - 4:30 PM

With a constitutional crisis brewing and the Supreme Court at loggerheads, the interactive Town Hall style series “Conversations On the Green” concludes its fourth season on August 7 with a penetrating discussion of the court, its post-election tribulations and their likely impact on the country.

The discussion will be led by two of the most noted and erudite court watchers:
LINDA GREENHOUSE
the legendary reporter and columnist for The New York Times,
&
PAUL CAPPUCCIO
chief legal officer for Time Warner and one of only a handful of people in recent history to have clerked for two justices.

The 1998 Pulitzer Prize winner for her coverage of the court, Linda Greenhouse currently is Joseph Goldstein Lecturer in Law and Knight Distinguished Journalist in Residence at Yale Law School and writes a biweekly opinion column for The Times. A graduate of Yale Law School, she worked for the paper for 40 years, including nearly 30 covering the Court. She is the author of Becoming Justice Blackmun, a biography of the justice, and two other recent books: Before Roe v. Wade: Voices That Shaped the Abortion Debate Before the Supreme Court’s Ruling (with Reva B. Siegel) and The U.S. Supreme Court: A Very Short Introduction. Her new book, The Burger Court and the Rise of the Judicial Right (with Michael Graetz), was just published by Simon & Schuster.

As Time Warner’s chief legal officer, Paul Cappuccio oversees the worldwide management of the multi-national’s legal affairs. A Harvard Law school graduate, Cappuccio previously was Senior Vice President and General Counsel at America Online and, before that, a partner specializing in telecommunications law, appellate litigation and negotiation with government agencies in the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis. He also served as Associate Deputy Attorney General at the United States Department of Justice and as a law clerk at the Supreme Court for Justice Antonin Scalia and later for Justice Anthony M. Kennedy.
