How does your congregation market itself to members and your community?

Homestead Presbytery invites to
A Mini-Workshop on Tuesday, September 15, 2015
Or
A Full Day Workshop on Wednesday,           September 16, 2015

This series of workshops are designed to enhance your communication skills in "marketing" your congregation
So You Thought You Knew Communications A short primer on communications. Opening with things it ain’t and why it ain’t  – like information technology, cell phones, electrical networks, mass media (alone), speech (alone) or other such things. Why it doesn’t always work and why it gets blamed for everything. Then a presentation of what communications is. It’s all about the message, including the impact of the medium on the message, and how it can work and why it often fails.

Secret Evangelism: The Value of Church Hospitality  If you don't act like you want visitors, or don't welcome the occasional members, they won't come and stay. Hospitality begins at the curb and should be reflected throughout your building in words and actions.

Becoming News: How your church can become news in your community  From the day I told someone I would not come to their event to take pictures, to the day someone told me an event wouldn’t make the news, this segment covers making news in a church’s community. It’s really not that hard when you keep your eyes and ears open, and then, perhaps most important, see and hear with the sense of a journalist. What makes news and how you make news.

Freedom to Speak:  Word of mouth is the best form of advertising - and it costs nothing!! Ways to teach congregations how to talk about their faith, and how to invite people to worship and eventsWorkshops led by
