Narrative Philanthropy presented by TELUS - NPD Workshop with Norma Cameron

Proudly presented by:

CFRE Credits: 3

2015 National Philanthropy Day

2.5 Hour Narrative Philanthropy Workshop

Introduction: People have always told stories. For thousands of years, our ability to remember and share stories was crucial to survival.  Today, storytelling is being re-discovered as the most powerful way to engage and motivate individuals to take action – whether that’s to buy products or services, join movements or support the non-profit sector.  And, research now provides the evidence to support this long-held belief.

The objective of this Narrative Philanthropy workshop for participants will be to:

  • increase their understanding of the power of story
  • introduce Narrative Philanthropy and its application to your Case for Support
  • ignite their passion to gather, shape and share stories in a strategic fashion, and
  • increase their level of comfort and confidence in telling stories when communicating with both internal and external audiences (across all mediums).

Workshop Agenda Items

  • What is Narrative Philanthropy?
  • The power of story in communications (why stories trump statistics).
  • Balancing right & left thinking across communications (the art & science of strategic storytelling).
  • The structure and anatomy of a well-crafted story.
