2.5 Hour Narrative Philanthropy Workshop
Introduction: People have always told stories. For thousands of years, our ability to remember and share stories was crucial to survival. Today, storytelling is being re-discovered as the most powerful way to engage and motivate individuals to take action – whether that’s to buy products or services, join movements or support the non-profit sector. And, research now provides the evidence to support this long-held belief.

About Norma Cameron, CFRE
Norma is owner and principal of The Narrative Company, formed in 2006 to help people and organizations understand and apply the power of story. Norma has over 25 years’ experience in communications, fundraising, training, organizational development and narrative consulting. She is also an engaging keynote speaker, facilitator and professional storyteller, who has led workshops and performed at conferences, concerts and festivals across Canada and in the UK and USA.
In 2001 she returned to the UK to study storytelling at the University of Edinburgh’s School of Scottish Studies, followed by a 3 month adventure of living with, and learning from professional storytellers in Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales.
She has been a faculty member for the Canadian Association of Gift Planners since 2007, teaching their intensive 5-day Original Gift Planning course and their 3-day Strategic Gift Planning Bootcamp. As a certified Guided Autobiography trainer she also helps individuals write and tell their life stories. She is a volunteer on CAGP’s Education Committee and represents CAGP on the International Advisory Council for CFRE.
