2016 PlainTalk Conference: Connecting Competitive Communities

Please join East Tennessee Quality Growth for our third PlainTalk Conference. This conference will bring together urban and rural decision makers to hear national thought leaders discuss expanded regional connectivity and economic development strategies.
East Tennessee Quality Growth is partnering with the Cities of Knoxville, Alcoa and Maryville to present PlainTalk 2016, the third in a series of Plain Talk conferences focusing on important issues in our sixteen county region. The conference will be a whole day affair featuring nationally recognized speakers:
- Gary Toth - Project for Public Spaces
- Billy Hattaway - Florida Department of Transportation
- Robert Gibbs - Gibbs Planning Group
- Whitney Kimball Coe - Center for Rural Strategies

The 2016 Plain Talk conference objective is to expand and strengthen our ongoing regional cooperation and competitiveness. Break out sessions will focus on building partnerships and utilizing tools to evaluate community potential and influence.
Registrants will hear about:
- Healthy and livable communities
- How other regions are linking infrastructure, land use, and transportation
- How to successfully connect rural and urban communities through modern communications technology
Elected and appointed local government officials, including planners and planning commission members, are eligible for 4 hours of continuing education credits.
