Mud Lake Symposium 2014
The Phases, Facets and Functions of Dingle Marsh

A two day conference exploring the Mysteries of Mud Lake and the greater Dingle Marsh. The Mud Lake area is the mixing valve of the Bear River - Bear Lake system. Not only is it where the waters come together, but also where the various interests merge: Upstream, Downstream, Local, Lake, Wildlife, Energy and Agency. Many of those  have never seen it up close and even fewer have set foot upon it. All are invited to join in this journey into the unknown, discovering the mysteries of the marsh through auto tours, virtual tours and the shared knowledge of others.

The goal is for you to see and understand:

  • The phases of the marsh, both natural and manmade
  • The many facets of land, water, law and science
  • How these all come together to perform the many functions expected of it

We hope to show you the marsh from various angles and viewpoints both literally and figuratively. Exact locations and schedules are weather dependent. Registrants will receive final schedules and updates.

Mud Lake has been in the service of man for a long time. Like any good machine, the more you understand it, the better you can utilize and maintain it. It may be time for the 100 year/ 100,000 mile check up. Come help us "lift the hood" and see what's going on inside.
