Developing Financial Projections for Your Business

Whether you are seeking to grow a new or existing business, having a good handle on the numbers is essential.  While this starts with budgeting, all businesses need to be able to forecast and analyze cash flow to be successful. In particular, if you are seeking loans or investors, they will most certainly require financial projections to understand your business and to confirm that you understand your business.  This workshop provides an introduction to the world of financial projections for small business and how leading capabilities can be applied in small company settings.  We will also introduce attendees to helpful tools such as spreadsheet programs and templates.

In this workshop you will learn key features, benefits, and tips for using Microsoft Office, including:

  • Leading practices for structure and format of financial projections
  • Forecasting techniques
  • Helpful spreadsheet tools and templates
  • Dealing with uncertainty, risk, and “what if’s”
  • Preparing projected operating and financial statements
  • Attracting potential lenders and investors

 

Speaker - Glen Justis, Partner, Experience On Demand

Glen joined the management consulting firm Experience on Demand in 2013, where he assists a diverse spectrum of clients with business startup, strategy, and financial issues. He has twenty-nine years of combined consulting and industry experience.

Prior to joining Experience on Demand, Glen founded his own firm, Acclaim Strategies, LLC, working with select legacy clients on business strategy and capital investment analysis.  He also served as a Director in the Governance, Risk, and Regulatory Strategies practice of Deloitte & Touche, LLP. His work at Deloitte focused on capital investment decisions, business analytics, risk management, and corporate development. 

Glen has completed and/or overseen over one hundred individual client projects, encompassing private, publicly-traded, governmental, not-for-profit, and cooperative organizations.  He holds an MBA with honors and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He has completed executive education through The University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and the American Association of Collegiate Schools of Business Bridge Program.
