Small Business Person of the Year
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has named Denise S. Navarro, President and CEO of Logical Innovations, (LI2) ("LI squared"), the 2016 District Small Business Person of the Year. The company specializes in Program / Project Management Support Services; Information Technology Support Services; Training Design, Development, and Delivery; Performance Improvement; Customer Service; Conference / Meeting / Outreach Services; Documentation, Data and Configuration Management; Administrative Services and Logistics Management.“

* Entrepreneurial Success Award Winner of the Year – Timothy B. Murphy of Gold’s Gym. After owning and operating several clubs, Bryan Murphy joined Gold's Gym International, as General Manager over 9 locations in Austin, TX. Recently, he started his first Gold's Gym franchise.
* Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year – Robert J. Warren of University of Houston Procurement Technical Assistance Center (UH PTAC), served with the US Air Force and Air Force Reserve for 26 years. As a Reservist called up during Desert Shield / Desert Storm he saw veteran business owners lose their businesses to the demands of their Reserve duty. When Bob joined the University of Houston Procurement Technical Assistance Center (UH PTAC) in 2009 he brought those experiences with him into the new job.
* Financial Services Champion of the Year – Marlon Mitchell, President and CEO of Houston Business Development, Inc. (HBDi), a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, established in 1986, serves as a catalyst in stimulating economic growth and revitalizing communities throughout the city of Houston, Texas. Empowering small businesses to grow and create jobs, which in turn will help build strong neighborhoods and communities, is our primary objective.

Women in Business Champion of the Year– Helen Callier, President, Bradlink, LLC, one of North America's most recognized Technical Services Firm providing Program Management, Facilities Design, BIM, and Operations/Maintenance services to government agency and Fortune 500 private project owners. Some of Bradlink’s clients include the Houston Airport System, AECOM, TDIndustries, JACOBS, XEROX, and CH2MHill. Bradlink is 100% woman, minority, small business certified and is certified by Small Business Administration as an 8(a). Helen is an alumni of Goldman Sachs 10KSB Program.
