Pre-meeting Trainings (January 18, 2017):
Competency Modeling (FREE AND OPEN TO MEMBERS ONLY)
This one-day class is the debut of our course created by lifetime WRIPAC member, Rod Freudenberg, PhD, and Shelley Langan. Through a combination of lecture, discussion, and individual and group exercises, participants will gain an understanding of the terms and application of "Competency" and "Competency Modeling" and how it complements Job Analysis. This course will address issues that competency modeling might resolve, design parameters, key design features, rating and sorting duties and competencies and how to apply competencies in examination design.
This course will be free to members and limited to one attendee per member agency on a first-come, first-served basis. If additional seats remain after December 28, 2016, the class may be opened up to additional (member & non-member) participants.
Training and Experience
This one-day class is designed to acquaint the participants with a variety of techniques that can be used to assess training and experience (T&E) at the application stage of the recruitment process. Advantages and disadvantages of T&E evaluation methods will be addressed, as well as issues related to reliability, validity, instrument development, and scoring of these assessment techniques. Through a combination of lecture, discussion, and individual and group exercises, participants will gain an understanding of the approaches commonly used in evaluating training and experience.
Training Registration Cost:
Early registration (by December 28) will be $175/members, or $225/non-members
Late registration (after December 28) $200/members or $250/non-members
