Short Biographies of Speakers:
Michael Casey, ACI, MCI, is principal with Michael Casey & Associates, a national A.M. Best-recommended consulting firm based in San Diego. Mike is past president of the Califronia Real Estate Inspection Assocaition (CREIA - 1994/1995) and of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI - 2002). Mike is multi-code certified by the ICC and IAPMO. He is a licensed general, plumbing, and mechanical contractor in several states and a Virginia Certified Home Inspector. Besides co-authoring several books in the CodeCheck series and author of the Code History Master booklet and app, Michael has authored numerous other books, taught home and buidling inspection nation-wide and has an expert witness and claims consulting practice throughout North America since 1987. Mike has inspected over 10,000 building in his over 30-year career in the inspection profession.
Kenny Hart, Jr., ACI, A second generation Master Plumber and Mechanical Contractor, Kenny Hart has nearly 40 years of experience in the mechanical fields. He holds a Master's License in plumbing, HVAC and gas-fitting. He has been certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a backflow device tester. He is a Virginia Certified Home Inspector and has been or is currently a member of ASHI, NAHI and InterNACHI. Kenny is the Past-President of the Virginia Association of Real Estate Inspectors. He served on the ASHI Technical Committee for three years, including one year as the chairman. He is a regular presenter at home inspector, trade and real estate events. Kenny is a contributing editor to the ASHI@Home Home Inspector Training Program and is a support specialist for the Risk Management Technical Support Network operated by Casey O'Malley and Associates. He has authored and contributed to technical articles for several major magazines including the Journal of Light Construction, Drinking Water and Backflow Prevention and Popular Mechanics.
