Multihull Experts

Seldom will you find a better group of multihull experts and experienced passage makers ---- all eager to answer your questions and help you make your sailing decisions!---- and all seated side-by-side at the same table.

Rick and Julie Palm - dyed-in-the-wool monohull sailors and circumnavigators, Rick and Julie have recently switched to a catamaran. Learn why they made the change and how they feel about cruising aboard a cat after 7000 miles and a transatlantic crossing.

Hank & Seale George - After sailing 3 different monohulls for 36 years and 80,000 miles, Hank & Seale switched to a performance cruising catamaran 7 years ago.  They and their trusty crew of Breezy & Misty, two cocker spaniels, have logged another 50,000 miles on their catamaran between the Chesapeake, Maine and the Caribbean.  Besides offshore sailing, exploring, and hiking, they enjoy diving, most recently in Bonnaire, as an integral part of their sailing activities.

Gino Morrelli - designer/partner of Morrelli & Melvin Yacht Designers. Gino has been entrenched in onshore and offshore race-boat construction efforts since the early 80's, designing and managing the construction of a French 60' ocean racing catamaran, multiple Formula 40's, the 1988 Stars & Stripes America's Cup catamaran, Bol D'or racers.  He is the best in the business to explain the evolution in multihull designs over the last decade.

Jørn Ravnskjær -  As Sales & After Sales Manager for Quoning Boats, Jørn helps Dragonfly trimaran owners with spare parts and service for their boats. He combines his boat building skills and broad knowledge of the maritime industry to answers your questions about sailing trimarans.

Xavier Demarest - President of Grand Large Yachting, the parent company of Outremer Yachting, Xavier will offer you his perspective on the catamaran market and the options for comfort and performance available to you from the catamaran manufacturers around the world.

Phil Berman - long-time multihull expert and founder/president of The Multihull Company offers a worldwide persepctive on the multihull market to help you find the right boat for your sailing plans and personal preferences. Phil is the developer of the Balance Catamaran.

Moderator:  George Day - Publisher and Founder of Bluewater Sailing, Cruising Compass and Multihulls Quarterly, George has spent a lifetime combining his twin passions of sailing and journalism.  He circumnavigated with his family on a Mason 43 in the early 90's and has a special interest in short-handed long distance cruising.
