OPTIONAL CLINIC - Mechanics for Plays at the plate/ & Plays at first

National Umpire Camps conducted a very well received plate clinic at last years state meeting .  This year we will have them back for our 2017 State Baseball Meeting.  This year the focus will be plays at the plate/plays at first seminar. We intend to have a demonstration of the mechanics and positioning, as well as video showing proper usage of the mechanics. This will be a seminar setting. We will have a throw down plate and base. We will demonstrate the different plays that occur, talk through each scenario, and show video of umpire utilizing our process on the field. After review the video and demonstration of proper positioning we will discuss why is best and provides positive reinforcement, versus showing umpires missing plays.

We will have one hour sessions, similar to last year. Cost will remain the same as last year, $35 per umpire for the session. Sessions will begin at 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 PM. Last year, because of the nature of our drills, we were limited to a certain number of umpires per hour. We can actually accommodate more umpires each hour, but will need to  keep a limit of 40 umpires per session.

Instructors will include current and former professional umpires, most of which are also umpiring in the top college conferences. With over 100 years of collective professional experience, this is one of the best clinic staffs in the country. Instructors will be based on availability. Current instructors for National Umpire Camps include:
