Start Now!  Preparing for Transition

A session to share information with middle school and high school families about what to expect out of a transition program and how to prepare.

Why wait?  Let's Start Now!

Are you a parent, educator, or student in Clark County?  Are you wondering about life after transition, or how to prepare for your transition program in the future?  This session is for you!

Many families find that they spend their IEP meetings and school years focusing on the current year and only when they approach the end of high school do they begin to hear about how to plan for transition. What we want to emphasize is that you don't have to wait to prepare for transition until the final years of high school.  Let's learn together how to gather information earlier and build skills during middle school and high school so that students leave their transition program with a paid job they enjoy and a full life in the community.

The format of the evening will be to provide information from local transition programs in different school districts in Clark County followed by a breakout session facilitated by educators representing 3 different age groups so that parents, students and teachers can begin preparing and building on skills right away!  Don't miss this interactive evening and the opportunity to meet other families and students the same age as yours.

This session will take place at the Cascade Middle School Library!

Registration is not required, but we appreciate you taking the time to register as it helps us to plan for materials and refreshments. Register Now!
