KCCNY Union Pool Sessions 2016-2017

Pool sessions are a great way to sharpen your paddling skills or learn the Eskimo roll. These sessions are held at the Union Boy's and Girl's Club Pool in Union, NJ from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. on December 11 and 18, 2016 and on January 8, 15, and 29, February 5, 12, and 19, March 5, 12, 19,and 26, and April 2, 9, and 16, 2017

This facility is open to white water kayaks and canoes.  PFD's and helmets are required in the pool. We always have volunteer instructors at the pool sessions to help with basic whitewater kayak skills, with particular emphasis on the kayak roll.

Participants are expected to provide their own boat, paddle, helmet, spray skirt, and PFD. The club does not own any equipment but may be able to arrange for new members to borrow boats and gear if arrangements are made several days in advance.

We want to be kid friendly, and hope all parents join as members of KCCNY and take advantage of the lowest rates.

An Adult KCCNY member can bring all their minor children to the pool for a single low fee of $5. That's one easy child fee to cover all kids under the supervision of that adult member. This includes minors that are not your children. So one $15 adult member fee + one $5 child fee = $20 to get a mess of your kids and their friends rolling and winning! Additionally anyone that is not an ACA member needs to pay the ACA $5 insurance day fee to use the pool.

For more information, or any questions, email Dan Kirsch at dkirsch@kirschandkirsch.com You should also check our club website at www.kccny.com for complete details about the pool sessions and special requirements for bringing kids.

Member price applies to members of KCCNY, HRCKC, Mohawk, and Hackensack Riverkeeper.

All participants will be asked to enter a valid American Canoe Association membership number as part of the registration process.  If you do not have an ACA number, you can join the ACA on line and bring your membership number with you to the event.  You will also have the opportunity to purchase a $5.00 ACA single event membership at the pool session.

All participants must sign an ACA waiver form on an annual basis.  Forms will be available at the pool session, but you can save time by downloading the form from the ACA or KCCNY website and bringing it to the pool session.
