Featured speakers and facilitators

Elizabeth D. Allen, MD, is a member of the Section of Pulmonary Medicine at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and the Physician Lead for Nationwide Children’s Hospital Keep Me Well Asthma Quality Improvement Initiative. Her clinical interests include the evaluation and management of infants, children and adolescents with respiratory illnesses, particularly asthma and interstitial lung disease.

Myia Batie is the Program and Policy Manager in the Office of Planning, Preservation and Development (PP&D) of the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) where she is responsible for planning and development of affordable multifamily housing development programs. Prior to joining PP&D, Batie worked in OHFA's Office of Affordable Housing Research where she led strategic planning and performance measurement processes for the Ohio Housing Finance Agency. 

Phillip Bouton is a Certified Healthy Homes Specialist and is a Program Manager for the Columbus Public Health Department, Healthy Homes Program. He has been working on healthy homes issues at the Columbus Health Department for 13 years and has 19 years progressive experience providing indoor environmental quality technical assistance and consultations. 

Amber Jones is the Health Education Program Planner for Creating Healthy Communities and a content expert in Smoke Free Living within the Chronic Disease Prevention Section at Columbus Public Health. Her responsibilities include recruiting and providing technical assistance to property managers and creating action plans for Smoke-Free polices in multi-unit housing complexes and single-family homes.

Donna Jurden is the Outreach & Education Coordinator for the Indoor Radon Program at the Ohio Department of Health and is licensed as a radon mitigation specialist. She has been employed at the Ohio Department of Health for 16 years and has worked in the radon program for the last 6 years.

Shelly Kiser is the Director of Advocacy for the American Lung Association in Michigan and Ohio where she is responsible for federal, state and local lung health, tobacco and clean air advocacy campaigns in Ohio and Michigan. Recently, she has worked with partners to pass model tobacco-free campus policies for public K-12 schools and public colleges, an increase in the state tobacco tax and promoted Ohio’s smoke-free casinos.

Brenda Moncrief is the Asset Management Service Manager for Homeport (dba: Columbus Housing Partnership) where she has been employed for 16 years.  She has been in the forefront of Homeport’s implementation of “Smoke Free Housing”, bringing smoke free policies to eight (8) of Homeport’s properties and developing plans for smoke free policies in all of Homeport’s properties over the next three years. 

Phil Styer has worked at the Ohio Department of Health since 1991 in a variety of program areas including the Black Lung Clinics Program and various Primary Care and rural Health programs.  Since April 1, 2015 he has served as the Program Manager of the Ohio Comprehensive Asthma Control Program Through Evidence-Based Strategies and Public Health-Health Care collaboration.

Chantez Williams is the Commissioner of the Division of Environment for the City of Cleveland. A graduate of the University of Toledo with a degree in Biology, he has over 20 years of experience in public health including STI education and service coordination, lead risk assessment, and managing environmental public health services.
