Philharmonic Orchestra String Auditions for

2016-2017 Season

The Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis is holding auditions for new string players to join this first rate all volunteer orchestra in its 2016-2017 season.

Auditions will be:

Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 10:00 AM through 1:00 PM

Location:  St. Paul Episcopal Church (see map to the left).

The Phil is friendly and casual and so are our auditions.  Please prepare 2 pieces that show off your musical accomplishments.  One piece should be lyrical and the other technical. The Phil's conductor and artistic advisor, Orcenith Smith will hear you privately.  You may be asked to sight read a selection from the upcoming season.  Auditions take about 15 minutes.

The Phil is beginning its 76th season of entertaining the Indianapolis community.  In the 2016-2017 season, we will play 5 subscription concerts, two school concerts, and one summer concert.  For dates, locations, and programs, please check out our website at www.philharmonicindy.org.

Rehearsals are on Monday evenings with additional rehearsals on Thursday and Saturday prior to a concert.  Rehearsals begin September 7 (the only Wednesday rehearsal of the season).

We are looking forward to meeting you in August.  Please feel wecome to pass this information along to other musicians who may be interested in playing with the Phil.

Music that Matters Logo A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE ORCHESTRA:
