The Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum is hosting a two day conference to examine and discuss the impact of the Nixon administration's policies on the American Indians in their past, their present, and their future.
The goal of this conference is to enhance the understanding of an underappreciated and often overlooked relationship between President Nixon and the American Indian. The conference will highlight the Nixon administration’s policies and the lasting impact on the Indian community. As part of the goal, the conference will explore the impact of current issues on the American Indian. Additionally, we expect to raise awareness of the archival holdings at the Nixon Library and other institutions in order to further research of these topics.
Participants will include scholars, Nixon Administration alumni, and community and tribal leaders.
