35th Street Fair

We’ve Changed Our Name!!!!   And we’re bigger and better!

Our 5th Annual Street Fair is now called The 35th Street Fair.

For those who’ve never been, it’s a fun family festival featuring music, food and a lot of great vendors and artists plying their craft.

The name change turns out to be a great idea on our part because guess where this year’s fair takes place?

You got it!  Same place… 35th Street and 4th Avenue.

The Oak Park Business Association is blocking off the street and this year we’re presenting a multi-cultural event celebrating the diversity that has made Sacramento one of the most culturally diverse cities in the U.S.A.

The 35th Street Fair takes place on Sunday, May 4th from noon to 6pm.

Like last year, entertainers will be performing under the big tent which spans half the block.

It’s an amazing line-up, starting with:

The Yee Fow Lion Dancers, who will open with the traditional Lion Dance

Sacramento Taiko Dan-the area’s premier Japanese drumming ensemble

Fenix Drum Group- specializing in dance and drumming from West Africa, the Congo and the Caribbean.

Aloha Polynesia Dance Group - Polynesian entertainment.

Instituto Mazatlan Bellas Artistas – Hispanic Cultural Dance Group

Cali Danza – Hispanic Cultural Dance Group

Amor do Samba - Afro-Latin Dance Performance

Mercy Me – Sacramento’s Premier Dance Party Band (R&B/Funk)

But there’s more!

This year’s fair will feature a sneak preview of our big monthly event we’re calling Gather. Similar to the “Good” monthly event on Del Paso Boulevard and produced by the same group, our event will be food centric with a number of artisans on hand. (Please see below)

We're also featuring the Off-Broadway Beer Garden, offering a great selection of craft beer from the following breweries:

Davis, Ca - Sudwerk

Sacramento, Ca - Rubicon Brewing

Sacramento, Ca - New Glory Beer

Back again this year…a car buff’s dream…a collection of eye-popping classic cars from the 40s through the 60s will be on display.

For the kids—the popular Kid Zone (with bounce houses and face painting) is back.

As always, there'll be numerous Social Service provider booths offering help to the community.

The Oak Park Business Association, which was created to support the community and promote the business corridor of Oak Park, is the lead sponsor of this event.

We also want you to know about a new monthly event coming to Oak Park…

GATHER: A Night of Community & Culinary Delight

Inspired by the warm California nights and the emerging trend of the food culture, GATHER is a take on the city as a dining table. Set in a familiar, but unique setting, this spectacular food event will take place monthly on second Thursday evenings in Oak Park from June-October at 3rd Avenue and Broadway. The night will include communal tables for out-door dining, a craft beer area, artisanal food vendors, designers, food demos, interactive art, live music and a modular kids park.

GATHER is a social experiment based around the idea that a neighborhood that eats together stays together and strengthens the community.

GATHER/Oak Park is presented The Oak Park Business Association and developed by Unseen Heroes.
