Join us at the 2015 Mecalf Media Awards:

Connecting Through Community Voices

The Rhode Island conversation is made up of many unique voices.  Media that reflects that diversity is exactly the kind of news we want to read, watch, and hear.

That is why each year, RICJ celebrates journalists and media who dedicate their lives to making sure all voices are part of the Rhode Island conversation.

Join RICJ in thanking the talented people who expertly tell the stories of our diverse, vibrant, geographically small but culturally vast Rhode Island... genuinely ardent storytellers, at the

Metcalf Awards for Diversity in the Media

Join our Breakfast Celebration!
Tuesday, May 12, 2015
8:00am
Hotel Providence, 139 Mathewson Street, Providence, RI
Tickets are $35 and the public is invited.

This is our region's premier (and only) award in media diversity with awards that cover all formats - print, broadcast, film and Internet.

Traditionally, the inspiring people covered in the winning stories present the awards to journalists-always interesting and emotional!

This award was founded in 1998 to honor Michael Metcalf, publisher of The Providence Journal, for his community contributions and his recognition of the media's power to offer insights that can dispel stereotypes and promote understanding. The Metcalf competition is judged by an independent panel of journalists, faculty and community.

All proceeds raised from this event support RICJ's programs to better the community - our Youth Leadership Education, Juvenile Justice, the Rhode Island Wall of Hope, Civil Rights Roundtable, Interfaith Education and much more!  This work is more important than ever.  Please support us.  Know that your presence at this exciting event also helps an at-risk teen - builds better policies - builds communities. Put your money to work here at home in Rhode Island!
