We are excited to announce that Roy Germano, PhD, the award winning producer of "The Other Side of Immigration" and several documentary films, will be our keynote speaker at this year's conference.   Mr. Germano is a national expert on the politics of international migration and farmworker life experiences.   His extensive research has been featured in journals such as Perspective on Politics, Latino Studies and Electoral Studies.  He has also provided commentary and analysis on different media outlets such as MSNBC, Fox News, NPR, WNYC, Vice News, Univision, El Pais, and Telemundo.  On the docket for this conference - the recent immigration debate with reference to Obama's executive action, the root causes of illegal immigration and the impact of remittances in migrant's homelands.

Psychologist Heather Trobert, PhD, will be speaking on the topic of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and the relationship between childhood adversity and adult health risk behaviors.  As an advocate, educator, scientist and clinician, she is dedicated to healing difficult-to-treat conditions at the intersection of health and mental health.  Among other things, Heather will be sharing with us the importance of providing trauma-informed care when dealing with the farmworker population.

Other hot topics that will be addressed:

  • The federal government has expanded the definition of an eligible farmworker. Who qualifies? What does this change going forward? How does this benefit YOU?
  • The Agricultural Farmworker Task Force
  • Zika and its impact on the farmworker population

Wait!  There's more:

  • The Farmworker Health Conference offers a wonderful platform for networking opportunities!
  • Coffee, tea and light refreshments will be provided in the morning.
  • Buffet style lunch (and dessert) will be provided in the afternoon.
  • All attendee door prize drawings will take place throughout the day!

While there is no fee to attend this event, we do require that each attendee register themselves individually for planning purposes.  To reserve your seat, please click the "Register Now" button below.
