MBAA District NW Spring Meeting 2014 

Spring is just around the corner!

Join us for another fun-filled weekend in beautiful Hood River, OR. This year's program will be centered around brewhouse safety and barley. Please see the full itinerary below.

Practical tours this year will be hosted at Double Mountain Brewery and Pfriem Family Brewers. There will also be disc and regular golf happening on Friday. Please see more details via the registration page.

This year's social event will be hosted by Double Mountain Brewery at their warehouse. Heated tent, music and beer! 

Meeting location will be the ever popular Best Western Inn located at 1108 E Marina Way. **Update 4/7 - the Best Western is sold out! They have referred us to the Hood River Hotel, located at 102 Oak Street. Their phone number is 541-386-1900 - their rooms rates start at $99/night plus tax.

Online registration is now open. All registration rates will increase by $20 after April 11th. There are multiple payment options - credit card via PayPal, send a check or pay at the door (we will be accepting credit cards at the door).

Everyone is encouraged to bring 4-6 cases of beer for the hospitality suite.

BONUS WORKSHOP : Beginning Microscopy for Brewers

A microscope is the first piece of lab equipment a brewery should purchase.  Through this introductory class, brewers will learn how to use a microscope and do the following:

•    Learn the basics of, and perform serial dilutions.
•    Perform cell counts on yeast slurry, pitched wort and fermenting or finished beer.
•    Perform viability analysis on yeast.
•    Preliminary identification of microorganisms other than yeast.
•    Use the information gathered through cell counts to calculate cells/ml and proper pitching quantities
