We take so much for granted in our lives.
But every year, hundreds of former refugees are resettled to Central Iowa and begin working to establish themselves in their new community. This year’s EMPOWER luncheon will share their courageous journey in starting a new life in Central Iowa and discuss what it means to become a citizen.
Your participation will make an impact on the Des Moines refugee community.
LSI’s Refugee Community Services empowers former refugees along their journey through:
• Citizenship classes
• Global Greens urban agriculture programs
• Work readiness training
• Child care training and business development
• English as a Second Language classes
• Services for older refugees
Please join us for this special day of empowerment and celebration!
Reservations: $50 per person ($35 of each event registration is tax-deductible as allowed by law.) Registration will close on Sunday September 4, 2016.
Your extra donation could mean twice as much!
Thanks to a generous supporter of LSI's Refugee Community Services, all additional gifts made will be matched dollar for dollar up to $3,500.
