Euthanasia by Injection: Two-Day Course

The workshop covers anesthetics, legend drugs, anatomy, verification of death and worker safety. A portion of the workshop will deal with the unique stress felt by those who perform euthanasia. During the hands-on section, attendees will learn how to perform intravenous, intraperitoneal and intracardiac injections, as well humane restraint methods.

Instructor Bio:  Staycee Dains has worked in the animal welfare field for more than 10 years as an Animal Care Attendant, Shelter Manager, Operations Director and Euthansia Instructor for shelters across the United States.  Staycee's experience as a shelter worker brings a real-world perspective to her classes that enables her students to gain a deep understanding of what euthanasia by injection is all about.  She is committed to the success of each student and their on-going training and support as an animal welfare professional.  Staycee is currently the Shelter Operations Supervisor for the San Jose Animal Care Center.

The Course Fee is $100 per person for CACDA Members or $150 for non-members.  The registration fee does not include lunch.
