Small Business Saturday Inspire Series presents: 

Accessing finance for your small business


The Small Business Saturday Inspire Series will travel to London for a free workshop on accessing finance for your small business with Clive Lewis FCA of the ICAEW Business Advice Service.

Small businesses need finance for all points of their journey, from starting up to funding growth plans. This workshop will be helpful for entrepreneurs who are starting, growing or running a small businesses. The event will explore:

  • How to approach the financing process
  • The questions to ask
  • Details of where to find free tips and advice on raising finance

The event is free for small businesses to attend. It will be live streamed on Periscope with real time Twitter Q&A, so even if you are not in the room you can still get involved. Make sure you follow @SmallBizSat for updates.

About Clive Lewis

Clive Lewis is a chartered accountant (FCA) and a chartered management accountant (ACMA). After qualifying in public practice he spent twenty years in financial controller/ director roles in various sized businesses mainly in the electronics sector. Prior to joining ICAEW in 1993, he was Finance Director of a quoted electronics PLC. 

At the ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) he is Head of Enterprise. He has conducted a number of surveys on business issues. He has represented the ICAEW at the British Bankers Association Business Finance Roundtable and has recently contributed to ICAEW responses to consultations on the Small Business Enterprise and Employment Bill and the Enterprise Bill.

He writes regular articles for the media using the feedback from surveys, ICAEW members and his experience in business.
