Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame Student Jazz Band Festival 

The Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame is proud to announce the 18th annual Student Jazz Band Festival. All school Jazz Bands  in the State of Alabama are invited to attend. This event will be held April 10, 11, and 12th at LR Hall in downtown Birmingham, Al. Please fill out the attached registration form so that your band will be allowed to participate. This is an egalitarian festival designed to highlight jazz performances. Directors please bring 3 copies of your music for the adjudicators. The following items will be provided for your performance: drum kit, keyboard, base and guitar amp, music stands and chairs. All bands should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their performance time. Bands will be allowed to warm-up on stage  for 10 minutes. Middle School  and High School participants can play 3 selections. College and university bands can play 4 selections. We will have a special poetry and jazz improvisation workshop on the high school and college days. All performance numbers must be jazz oriented. We look forward to your participation.
