Wrightsville Beach 

Renovations continue to transform the historic Palmgren-O’Quinn house into the Coastal Federation’s new Coastal Education Center and Southeast Office in Wrightsville Beach. During January, February and March a series of volunteer days – Renovation & Landscaping Fridays – will be held to ready the center for its Grand Opening in early 2014. Volunteers are needed to help prep and paint the house, build shelves, work on landscaping and help get the center ready for occupancy.  Volunteers’ sweat equity and time will enable the center’s campaign donations to be used for major renovations and education programming.

Staff will join volunteers from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day to help get the center ready for students and the public. Volunteers are welcome to help for a couple of hours or for the whole day with each event. Please keep checking the center’s update page  and web calendar for additional events and updates.

Paint, project materials, snacks and refreshments will be provided. We just need your help. Because we will be working in a variety of conditions (unheated building and outside), please dress for the conditions and wear clothes suitable for cleaning, painting and/or landscaping.
