Coastal Adventures: Coastal Birding Trip with Capt. Joe Abbate

Climb aboard The Shamrock for coastal birding trips! Beginning Wednesday, May 28, Wrightsville Beach Scenic Tours, Inc., in partnership with the federation, will host a series of weekly-guided boat and birding tours around Wrightsville Beach. These tours are designed to help participants identify local wildlife, learn about our unique coastal ecology and see a variety of birds, such as pelicans, Black Skimmers and possibly the endangered Piping Plover.

The program fee is $25 for federation members and $35 for nonmembers. Registration for the event is through the Wrightsville Beach Scenic Tours, Inc. and 10% of event proceeds will benefit the federation. The recommended age for this Coastal Adventures program is 10 years or older.  Capt. Joe recommends that participants bring sunscreen, water shoes and field glasses.
