February Luncheon

Please join us for our monthly membership luncheon. Keynote speaker, Mr. Brad Jones, Sr. Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas addresses electrical concerns and regulation changes for the oil and gas industry.

Mr. Jones will be discussing ERCOT and the transmission grid in Texas, as well as the Permian Basin. In this discussion he will address the needs of the oil and gas producers in the Basin and what ERCOT has planned or has in the current projects list for addressing the needs. He will explain what it takes to get projects approved and what RPG is and how the process works for the TDSP’s to get additional transmission and distribution projects approved and in progress. He will also address the role producers play in the success of the project initiation process and the new load study that is starting within ERCOT and the potential consultant. What producers need to provide and the timing will be crucial information for the operators to understand.

Following this luncheon discussion, we will provide a brief panel discussion for those interested in further information.

  • David Hawk, Rates and Regulatory Manager for AEP Texas
  • Reggie Bonner, Director of Large Commercial & Industrial Customer Service for ONCOR Electric Delivery
  • Doug McGee, Director of Distribution Service and Design for Sharyland Utilities

These Gentlemen will discuss the new data load form and service initiation timelines that have been created for producers in the Permian Basin. They will also address load forecasting needs within the utilities, what the operators should provide to the TDSPs and they will also talk about their individual companies plans for increased distribution and transmission facilities into the area.
