Walking with Benedict through Scripture:            Biblical Hospitality                                                  September  3 -  November 19, 2014                                     Available as a 12 week online course

This 12 week study on Biblical Hospitality is available online starting September 3. The course breaks open the Scriptures using the Benedictine charism of hospitality. This hospitality has little to do with our cultural definitions equating hospitality with entertaining. Biblical hospitality is grounded in understanding God as initiator, as host—the one who forever calls, welcomes, challenges and abides. Biblical hospitality is not an option but an imperative.

Saint Benedict felt strongly about the centrality of scripture in our lives. Today, steeping ourselves in the hope-filled messages of covenant, love and salvation history is more important than ever. In Benedict’s Rule we hear,“What page, what passage of the inspired books of the Old and New Testaments is not the truest of guides for human life?”(RB 73.3)

The course fee is $250 which includes a deposit fee of $50 to reserve a space.
The deposit fee will be refunded if the course does not run as a minimum of ten participants is required. If you choose to only pay the registration fee now the additional $200 will be due September 3.

Gail Murphy, MAPM, our Director of Scripture will conduct the course.                 If you have any questions regarding the course content or how it will run, please email her at
