Ride2School Day

Leaving the car at home and travelling by bike is great for your health, great for the environment and helps reduce traffic around your school.

On Friday 4 March 2016, Sunshine Coast students are urged to join over 300,000 students across Australia and adopt a two-wheeled mode of transport for National Ride2School Day (includes skating and scootering).

The event is Australia’s largest celebration of active travel to school, involving thousands of school kids each year.

Students within the Sunshine Coast Council region who wish to participate should register online before 4th March 2016 to be eligible to win a number of prizes including:

First prize - $500 voucher at a bike shop of your choice
Second prize - $200 voucher at a bike shop of your choice
Third prize - $100 voucher at a bike shop of your choice

Three good reasons to register:

  • Cycling is a fun way for kids to travel to school
  • Cycling is a great way to get fit and healthy, and contributes to the 60min of daily recommended physical activity for students.
  • Students arrive alert, more attentive and ready to learn.

Pump up those tyres and get pedalling for your chance to win these great prizes. Happy cycling!
