2014 Annual Membership Meeting & Convention

Please join us for Florida Foundation Seed Producers, Inc.'s 2014 Annual Membership Meeting and Convention on Friday, November 14, 2014 at the UF/IFAS Plant Science Research and Education Unit in Citra, Florida.  The meeting with start at 9:30 AM Eastern.

We have an excellent program planned with 2 concurrent focus sessions - one focusing on new peanut varieties and another focused on the increase and distribution of new citrus scions and rootstocks.

Dr. Jacqueline Burns, the new UF/IFAS Dean for Research and Director of the Florida Agricultural Experiment Station, will also give an update on activities and programs within UF/IFAS. 

The FFSP Board of Directors has discussed a change in the the status of FFSP from a 501(c)(5) organization to a 501(c)(3) organization.  This change would allow FFSP to be exempt from federal taxes and state sales tax.  Currently, as a 501(c)(5) organization, FFSP is exempt from federal taxes but is not exempt from state sales tax.  In order to apply to become a 501(c)(3) organization, modifications to FFSP's Articles of Incorporation will be required.  These amendments will be discussed and voted on during the Membership meeting.
