"Beyond the Surface: Which Surfacing Materials Add Texture, Drama and Luxury to Design Projects, Inside and Out." (.1CEU)

Surfacing has become the centerpiece of striking spaces. Projects containing tactile, visual, and sensory elements are among the most successful at making a lasting impression. Whether it’s natural stone on walls and flooring, countertops, or specialty tile for a wow effect, surfacing materials create a multitude of design statements in any environment. Interior / exterior designer Christopher Grubb shares his unique methods of combining tile, stone, and other materials to create an indoor or outdoor space with exceptional aesthetic, ambiance, and visual and tactile textures. Grubb will use his project to showcase which materials make the biggest impact, even when working with smaller budgets.

Christopher Grubb, Owner
Arch-Interiors Design Group, Inc.

Clients, editors, and producers have called Christopher Grubb an influential designer and a trendsetter. His design firm, Beverly Hills-based Arch-Interiors Design Group, Inc., is internationally recognized for its creative and unique work on residential, commercial, retail and hospitality projects, as well as high-end medical design.

Throughout his career, Christopher has been a sought-after lecturer nationwide, speaking on the subject of what creates compelling design. Arch-Interiors has been featured in books and hundreds of magazines and newspapers. Christopher has also shared his multifaceted design skills on numerous talk radio programs and TV shows. The company was named one of the Top 10 design firms in L.A. by Los Angeles Home and Décor magazine, and was selected and featured in Hong Kong’s World Architecture magazine, the publication that dedicates an entire issue annually to the profile of an international design firm.

In 2010 Christopher launched The C.G. Collection, bringing affordable luxury to the consumer market in his signature line of furniture for the modern bath.

For over twenty years, Christopher has remained enthusiastically driven and passionate about applying his diverse design styles to his clients’ individual needs and unique sets of challenges. While some designers apply their signature look to every project, Christopher employs his intuitive design method, which involves first learning about his clients’ individuality to create a one-of-a-kind environment that captures the essence of the distinctive style surrounding their business or personal life.

Christopher received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The University of San Francisco and the Academy of Art College, and studied in Milan, Italy at the Universitá Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
