About the Teacher  
Joan Halifax Roshi has worked in the area of death and dying for over thirty years and is Director of the  Upaya Zen Center's renowned Project on Being with Dying.   
 
She teaches internationally and is currently a distinguished invited scholar to the Library of Congress. Roshi  is a keynote presenter at major medical centers, universities, AAHPC and NHPCO conferences. 
 
A pioneer in contemplative end of life care her teleconference teaching titled "Being with Dying" will draw on the work developed in her new book.

Course Objectives 

At the completion of this conference the participant will be able to:

  • recognize edge states that caregivers experience in end of life care.
  • define a contemplative approach to end of life care.

Continuing Education

The course is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, CEP #14909 for 1 contact hour.

 

The course meets the qualifications for 1 hour of continuing education credits for MFTs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences PCE# 4160.
