Join Henry Snyder, Chair of the CGS library committee, for a talk and tour by the staff of California Historical Society

Size limited to 25 attendees (CGS members only).

After the tour, the library is open until 4:00 for research.

Bring lunch or try one of the several nearby restaurants.

The California Historical Society founded in 1871 has a large collection of archival material, maps, newspapers, photos, artifacts as well as a major California history library collection, over 50,000 volumes Great ephemera collection, tickets, advertisements, etc. There is also a gallery with changing exhibitions.

Itinerary for the Day

10:00 a.m. - Private orientation for the group
11:00 a.m to 3:45 p.m. - free time to do some research
4:00 p.m. - CHS closes

Transportation to CHS

There are two options:
Carpools can be arranged.
Parking is available at the 5th & Mission Parking Garage ($$ parking fee)

BART groups will be organized.
There are questions on the registration form about your choice of transportation.
More information will be sent to all registrants a couple of weeks prior to the trip.

Group is limited to 25 participants.

Confirmations will be sent to the first 25 to register and the others will be placed on a waiting list.

This field trip is organized for CGS members only. Non-members interested in participating in the visit are encouraged to become members prior to March 15, 2013.
