Welcome to the LA Citrix User Group

The Citrix LA Sales Team is excited to invite you to attend our LA Citrix User Group here in Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley.  

To kick off the LA CUG for 2010 we have invited the Principal Product Manager for Provisioning Service & Xen Cloud Platform, Pete Downing, as the keynote speaker.

Topics to be covered in presented material include Provisioning for XenServer and XenDesktop, an update on XenClient, and dialog around upcoming Citrix Cloud Computing initiatives.  Additionally, representatives from Intel, Appsense, Akamai, and Tricerat will be available to follow up with you, and to answer your questions.

Citrix Geek Speak Local: LA will also be included in this event.  Citrix Geek Speak Local: LA has invited a few of our locally recognized Citrix Technology Professionals to attend.  These individuals are professionals delivering the latest technologies for businesses both regionally and throughout the United States.  Bring your questions and opinions, we are interested to hear and respond to the conversation.

Keynote Speaker:  Pete Downing, Senior Product Manager

Pete Downing joined the Citrix team with over 10 years of experience in technology.  With a background in IT, desktop management, Networking, virtualization, server based computing, application deployment, profile management, Microsoft Active Directory andsystems administration, he brings a vast knowledge of the industry to his role as Senior Product Manager.  Currently Pete is working on the Provisioning Server 5.0 release as well as other various projects within Citrix.

After years spent building one of the first successful delivery practices in the Northwest USA, Rick joined Citrix in 1999 as a Systems Engineer, and quickly became one of the most trusted technologists in the Citrix community. He is known in the industry through uncommon outreach efforts such as the widely distributed 'Installation and Tuning Tips for Citrix MetaFrame' document, the CitrixNW support forum, Project Columbia, Project Willamette, TweakCitrix.com, and the Cal-AID Reference Design.

Steve Greenberg is the founder of Thin Client Computing in Scottsdale, Arizona, a leading consulting group for advanced Server Based Computing, Virtualization and Streaming solutions. Active in Server Based Computing and Virtualization since 1992, Mr. Greenberg is a pioneer in advanced deployments of Presentation Server, Terminal Services and various Virtualization technologies. He is both a Microsoft MVP and a Citrix CTP.

Joe ShonkJoe Shonk

Joe Shonk is a veteran consultant in virtualization and server based computing. By day he works on advanced system deployments and at night can be found roaming the forums and on his blog at http://www.theshonkproject.com. Joe has presented at numerous venues and conferences such as BriForum and Citrix's Geek Speak. In 2008, Joe was awarded Microsoft MVP and he also won the BriForum 2008 GeekOut game show.
