Bullying among adolescents is an important public health issue since it has long-term adverse consequences. This enlightening presentation will explain the complex relationship between bullying, depression and suicide among adolescents. Therapeutic interventions that target depression risk, suicide and bullying will also be covered.

Workshop Objectives
At the end of this activity, the learner will be able to:
• Understand the definition, types and epidemiology of bullying behavior and suicidality among adolescents.
• Become familiar with the research examining the association between bullying and suicide among adolescents, including cross-sectional andlongitudinal research findings.
• Learn therapeutic interventions, which target risk for depression, suicide and bullying among adolescents.

Presenter: Anat Brunstein-Klomek, Ph.D., is Clinical Psychologist, Senior Lecturer at the School of Psychology at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC), Herzlyia, Israel, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Columbia University. Dr. Brunstein-Klomek’s areas of expertise include depression, suicidality and bullying behaviors among adolescents. She is the author of articles and book chapters on bullying, depression and suicidal behavior among adolescents. Since 2007 she served as the assistant editor of Archives of Suicide Research and is a reviewer for several journals. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, American Association of Suicidology and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Workshop Continuing Education Credits
Three (3) continuing education credits will be offered for PA Social Workers & Licensed Professional Counselors, Psychologists, NBCC Counselors, and under Act 48.*
NBCC: Foundations Community Partnership (FCP) is an NBCC-Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP) and may offer NBCC-approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. The ACEP solely is responsible for all aspects of the program.
Psychologists: Foundations Community Partnership is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education to psychologists. FCP maintains responsibility for this program and content.
PA Social Workers: PA State Board accepts APA and NBCC approval for SW, MFT, and LPC.
Educators: Application has been approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education for three Act 48 Continuing Education Credits.
