Common Ethical Challenges for Psychotherapists:
Applying Decision-Making Models to Case Examples
The goal of this workshop is to demonstrate examples of common ethical concerns faced by practicing clinicians and the use of ethical decision-making models in providing resolution. Case examples will be provided that are relatable and accessible, followed by responses to these cases that meet the careful scrutiny required by the American Psychological Association’s code of ethics.

Presented by Charles J. Jacob, M.S.Ed., Ph.D., a lecturer in the Counseling and Mental Health Services Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education and licensed as a counselor, psychologist, and marriage and family therapist. Jacob is also the Academic Director, Professional and School Counseling Programs, Department of Professional Psychology and Family Therapy at Seton Hall University.
Continuing Education Credits
Three continuing education credits will be offered for PA Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, Psychologists, NBCC Counselors, and educators under Act 48. Registrants will receive detailed instructions on how to receive CE credits.
NBCC: Foundations Community Partnership (FCP) is an NBCC-approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP) and may offer NBCC-approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. The ACEP solely is responsible for all aspects of the program.
Psychologists: Foundations Community Partnership (FCP) is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education to psychologists. FCP maintains responsibility for this program and content.
PA Social Workers: PA State Board accepts APA and NBCC approval for SW, MFT, and LPC.
Educators: Application has been approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education for three Act 48 Continuing Education Credits.
