The Specifics of Exposures: Tips, Strategies, and Practicalities for Effective Exposures in CBT for Youth with Anxiety Disorders
Exposure has emerged in the anxiety literature as the most active and empirically supported component of CBT for anxiety disorders in youth and adults, yet research also documents that many clinicians have concerns about using it, especially in their work with children. Via multiple case examples, Dr. Dahlsgaard will describe the what, where, why, and how of planning and deploying clinically sensitive, developmentally appropriate, and effective exposures for youth presenting to treatment for a variety of anxiety disorders.
