Advancing Advocacy is the Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women's 40 Hour-Core Advocacy Training that provides new domestic violence and sexual assault advocates and first responders with state certification. Delivering a dynamic learning experience, CSVANW aims to help first responders and domestic violence advocates work together effectively in times of crisis.

Course Objectives:

Provide foundational training on the dynamics of domestic violence and sexual asault from the perspective of the Native American victim/survivor, child witness, and perpetrator.

• Provide best practices to improve collaboration and partnership among tribal leadership, advocates, and criminal justice and community professionals through a multidisciplinary approach.

• Promote effective domestic violence training, prevention, awareness and risk reduction programs.

  •   Shelter volunteers & 
  •   employees, Tribal domestic
  •   violence and sexual assault
  •   advocates, Tribal court staff,
  •   women's shelter personnel
  •   and advocates, including
  •   victim advocates.

Scholarships:
