4 out of 5 Native women experience violence in their life- with 56% of that being sexual violence. In New Mexico, Native women and children experience sexual violence at some of the highest rates. This one-day sexual violence training is geared to service providers and advocates to explore the dynamics of sexual violence in NM tribal communities, response and service, and investigation. Other topics to be included are sex trafficking of Native youth, culturally-appropriate services and healing modalities that can be used when working with Native victims.
