9th Annual Native Youth Summit

  Black and Indigenous Solidarity

The 9th Annual Native Youth Summit is a series of 1 hour workshops over 4 days and is a powerful leadership development experience that connects, challenges, and cultivates a cohort of 10 Native youth ranging in age from 13 to 17 years old from across the state of New Mexico. Our theme for the summit is Black and Indigenous Solidarity and it will focus on self-awareness and land to strengthen our Tribal communities through the following learning opportunies:

  • Encourage Native youth to work towards strengthening their voice;
  • Building our Native youth knowledge on the basics of violence prevention so they may share with their relatives in their territories; and,
  • Support Native youth in their building of knowledge to eliminate violence against all of our relatives.

This application MUST BE completed by the youth interested in applying for the Native Youth Summit and NOT by a parent or guardian on behalf of the applicant.

Acceptance into the Native Youth Summit will be based on the applicants responses provided in the essay questions and based the applicants involvement in thier community.

Each application will be internally reviewed and we will notify the youths when 10 youth are selected. CSVANW will notify applicants about their application status by phone. The accepted Native Youth Summit attendee's will receive a laptop/device, t-shirt, $200 in gift cards ($50 for each workshop attended), and backpack.
