About The Course Instructor:

Katie Fagan

Katie has worked as the Vice President of a small business funding firm focusing primarily on funding start-up franchises. During that time she learned the ins and outs of franchising from the front-end and back. Katie has helped over 600 small businesses open their doors, many of which were franchises, and have facilitated hundreds of SBA loans. She also worked in business brokerage, where she focused on the resale of restaurants, nightclubs and franchises. She was a part of the original FranNet Associate offices .

Katie has an Undergraduate degree in Mass Communications, and a MBA from The University of Illinois, Chicago (where she graduated with honors). She is currently completing her PhD at the University of California, Berkeley. She teaches Entrepreneurship and Journalism Ethics at Berkeley.
