Navigating Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Conversations

Part One: Unconscious Bias

Led by Vernita Stevens of

2p Paradigm of Possibilities & Marine Corps Veteran

Have you ever heard someone say, “I do not see color, I see people”?

While many conversations have positive intentions, they may lead to unintentionally decreasing the value of diverse perspectives.

According to Forbes (2018), “Companies that have more diverse management teams have 19% higher revenue due to innovationdiversity is not just a metric to be strived for, it is actually an integral part of a successful revenue generating business.”

Discussions regarding race, gender, and bias can be difficult to navigate in workplace or business settings.  Yet these conversations are vital for optimized company growth and development (for both business owners and employees).

Creating a culture that values a diverse and productive workplace requires effective communication and training.

Unconscious bias training is a tool which assists participants in understanding the impact of their interactions, recognizing unknown biases, and addressing them in a productive manner.

Our event is uniquely tailored to provide a safe place for transparent conversations and inquires which lead to a more optimized customer and employee experience.

This educational session will facilitate the participants managing and understanding personal unconscious biases, and empowering them to create productive and trusting interactions in the workplace.

Attendees will gain insights and strategies to:

  • Understand the role of unconscious bias in professional interactions
  • Recognize financial implications associated with diverse perspectives in the workplace and in business settings
  • Create trusting interactions which lead to enhanced customer loyalty, improved employee relationships, and increased “bottom lines” for companies and business owners
