Lodging/Retreat Info:
Join us for a great time away to be refreshed and renewed and to meet others at RH. We'll have cabins at Doublehead Resort which sits on Lake Wilson and is about two hours from Rolling Hills.
Our Retreat Speaker is William Guice. Here is more about him, from him...
I'm a middle aged guy from a little bitty town in north Louisiana you've never heard of who is hopefully learning daily to be a better husband, father and shepherd of people.
In my 42 years...
I graduated high school with 35 other people.
I owned purple & gold Magic Johnson Converse and Red & Black Air Jordans!
I got to learn a lot about people by working nights as a radio dispatcher in a sheriff's office. I have coached high school football at two nationally ranked schools.
I was fundamentally changed as a person when I travelled as a guitar playing worship leader.
In my 42 years...
I have been mentored as a research & creative assistant to a senior pastor who truly loved and shepherded people.
I have thrived and enjoyed teaching people the scriptures.
I have been blessed and humbled while planting and pastoring two churches.
I have been given a gift in spending four years as the chaplain for the athletic teams at the university I attended.
Somewhere in the midst of that chaos I earned an undergraduate degree in English, did masters work in education (All But Thesis), received an M.A. in Missiological Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary and today am in the home stretch on my doctoral dissertation. I also currently serve on the alumni council at Fuller Theological Seminary which serves to advise the board of trustees. I also work for the Ogilvie Institute of Preaching at Fuller working with pastors to become people who preach from a place where worship, preaching and justice collide in their world.
I'm married to Meredith Guice who is an amazing hair stylist...that's why I married her. And who knew, she'd be an even better wife and mother? I have three children Arden (15), Aubrey (11), and Abram (10) who I will gladly gush on and on about ad nauseam.
