Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an eight-hour course that teaches you how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training helps you identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Our nationally certified trainers teach a five-step action plan that will help you assess a situation, implement appropriate interventions, and help the person connect with professional care. A three-year certification in MHFA is available upon completion. The course can be offered over one day or two days and you must attend the full class to receive the MHFA certification.
