5th Annual Beit Midrash

The 5th Annual Beit Midrash is a program of the Pearlstone Center, and is co-sponsored by Hazon, Pardes, Machon Hadar, in partnership with Jewish Farm School, Eden Village Camp, Grow & Behold, B'nai Israel Congregation, Adat Chaim Synagogue, Congregation Netivot Shalom, Israeli Harvest, and Baltimore Hebrew Congregation.

BEIT MIDRASH 2013: Sacred, Sustainable Rhythms of the Jewish Calendar

An inspirational Shabbaton filled with learning, celebration, and groundbreaking Jewish thought.

Join an intergenerational, pluralistic community of Jewish farmers, rabbis, educators, scholars and consumers from across the country.

• Understand the Jewish Calendar through experiential learning and textual sources
• Develop personal connections to the calendar's many cycles
• From Shmittah to ethical food production, Investigate Jewish, environmental topics
• Vibrant Jewish communal prayer, celebration, and rituals
• Comprehensive Children's Programming- Interactive activities for children 12 and under.

Children's Programming

Wondering if Pearlstone's Beit Midrash is family friendly?  YES!  Join our FANTASTIC children's programming to experience an exciting new layer of this wonderful annual event!  We will provide babysitting for children up to 3 years old, and age-appropriate programming for 4-12 year olds.  

Children's programming may include:

  • Edible farm scavenger hunt
  • Meet the animals
  • Make your own instruments and music sessions (not on Shabbat)
  • Torah learning geared for little ones!
  • Plant your own seeds!
  • Nature arts and crafts

Our children's programs will be fun and interactive, led by experienced volunteer-educators.
