Fleisher From a Distance: Vertical Rolls and Boomerangs, a Video Art History

Video is a regular part of our lives and used by a wide variety of artists today. But, when did video art come on the scene? What was the difference between video art and experimental film? This lecture will address these and many other questions and will introduce participants to canonical scholarship and works. As we consider these histories, we will also ask what and who has been included, what or who has been excluded, and will speculate together about what video art histories of the future could look like.
