Warmer, wetter weather and changes in the length of seasons will have significant impacts on Wisconsin food production and human health. At the same time, efforts to reduce carbon emissions will present new opportunities for agricultural producers. Adaptation to a changing climate requires that professionals be aware of potential impacts and adaptations strategies suitable to their field of work.

Ben Brancel

From a perspective of his experience as a farmer, as a legislator, and as the two-time Sec.of Agriculture, Secretary Brancel will discuss environmental health today and in the future.  He is uniquely situated to address many of the things we as environmental health professionals do and care about from a variety of perspectives. His two, non-consecutive terms as Secretary alone give him a great perspective from which he can assess what has changed, should change, and what the emerging trends appear to be.
