Diack is an eLearning  Expert with extensive experience in the areas of research & Development in online learning design and delivery and the Systemic implementation of online programs and virtual universities. He is recipent of the International MERLOT Innovation Award 2009. He is member of the LA Board of Regents Task Force On Electronic Learning and the MERLOT professional development Editorial Board.

 LEARNING OBJECTIVE

In this workshop you will develop an online course using the SU syllabi and course template adopted during the previous modules. Modules will be designed to follow the QM and SACS standards. Module developed will be cloned into a full course. Some asynchronous and synchronous tools such as the Zoom conferencing will be discussed.

After completing the workshop, participants will have a better understanding of the current standards for designing an effective online course. They will complete the design of a course and will be practically involved in evaluating the course

They will be able to:

A. Design a course welcome are with communication forum to engage online students

B. Design a START HERE module to orient students to the structure of course, the learning environment and the external technologies used to facilitate a course. 

 C. Design a course containing resources, activities and assessment items.

D. Clone a course to generate an online course to be delivered during 8-weeks or 16-weeks session.

E. Develop a survey instrument to collect student satisfaction/attitudinal  data.

 F. Experiment with conferencing tools such as Zoom, Blue Button and other tools available through the office 360 platform.

G. Peer Review an online course for quality assurance
