Holocaust Education and Resources Designed Specifically For Catholic Educators
The Tennessee Holocaust Commission, in cooperation with the The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), The Diocese and Catholic schools throughout the state of Tennessee, Temple Ohabai Sholom, Aquinas College, Vanderbilt University, Catholic Charities of Tennessee, and The Jewish Federation of Nashville and Middle Tennessee will offer a three- day seminar titled, Building Bridges. This seminar will take place Wednesday, July 26th through Friday, July 28th. This is a unique professional development opportunity designed for Catholic school educators to learn how to teach about the Holocaust, antisemitism, and its lasting effects on contemporary society.
The workshop will provide educators with materials, resources, and pedagogical approaches to teach about the Holocaust, including testimony from Tennesseans of that era. The experience will conclude with a festive and inclusive Shabbat service followed by Shabbat dinner with Holocaust survivors.
Continental breakfast and lunches will be provided. Please see the attached agenda on the left for exact locations and times.
