Beaumont Mod

A Guided Tour of Hidden Modern Masterworks

Join Houston Mod for a guided tour of mid-century modern architecture in Beaumont, Texas.   View over a dozen significant houses and learn about the architectural dialogue between Houston and Beaumont during a guided bus tour.

We will tour the exteriors and interiors of houses by Howard Barnstone & Preston Bolton, Steinman & Goleman, D. Rex Goode, Jr., Charles H. Thomson, Jr. and James Flowers.

We will drive by additional houses by Bolton & Barnstone, Joseph Krakower, Milton Bell, and others, plus significant commercial and public buildings in the Beaumont area.  Included will be a glimpse of Howard Barnstone's first residential commission.

Reknowned tour leader Stephen Fox will place each building into context and describe unique connections between Houston architects and their Beaumont colleagues.  Fox is an architectural historian and a Fellow of the Anchorage Foundation of Texas.  He is a lecturer at the Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture of the University of Houston and at the School of Architecture of Rice University.

Ticket packages are available starting at $50.00.   There is also an opportunity for a discounted membership in Houston Mod with your ticket purchase.

A list of all tour sites will be provided with your tour ticket.

The event has sold out.   Please register for Houston Mod's e-newsletter on our web site for advance notification of future tour events.
